Great New Blog About Jewellery Posted by RDavid on March 28, 2021, 11:41 am A friend of mine, who is a jeweler and a researcher, has just started a very interesting blog. Some articles are only in Spanish while others are both in English and Spanish (although it is very easy to get things translated). I will leave here the link, for the ones interested: https://milstein.jewelry/ I would highlight some of the articles he has already posted like the one about the "mysterious" tiara worn by Queen Anne of Romania, in 1978 in Monaco. As it is something that I recall being discussed on boards for long. It appears that it was a loan from the Princes of Schaumburg-Lippe. Being worn by various ladies of that family. Other post that I found really interesting was the one regarding the necklace that was given to Grace Kelly on the occasion of her wedding by the National Council of Monaco. It appears that the final gift, the well known Cartier diamond necklace was not the first choice and there was a huge troublesome. In fact, the first choice was a set comprising a necklace, bracelet, ring and double clip in rubies and diamonds, the colors of the flag of the principality. This set was made by Clerc. I'm not sure that this is the Schaumburg-Lippe tiara worn by Queen Anne. First the pic of her with the tiara is not very clear and then i wonder why they Schaumburg-Lippe' should loan a tiara to the Queen of Romania s there are no connections between the Families. Queen Marie lent it from her family, not the first time she had lent a tiara from Princess Viggo, earlier she lent her fringe tiara for the occasion in Athens.

Unfortunately, there seems to be only the one photo of Queen Anne and it is not a high definition photo. Nevertheless, we can see that the tiara has a reasonably sized band surmounted by uprights terminating with gemstones set in a surround of diamonds. I have enlarged the photo below so that the band and the setting of the gemstones can be seen more easily. Neither of these two distinguishing features can be seen in the tiara which is said to be a transformed version of Princess Viggo's tiara. A comparison of the two tiaras. Until we can see a better photo of Queen Anne, the origin of the tiara may be open to question; however, based on the evidence available, I am backing Pablo Milstein's viewpoint.
