The Hesse Star Tiara
Posted by The Royal Watcher on June 22, 2021, 3:06 pm
To mark the 110th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Cecilie, Grand Duchess of Hesse today, I revealed some exclusive information about the spectacular Hesse Star Tiara, HERE! Ursula has a couple of entries on the Tiara made by Koch in 1931, that tie the stars to Grand Duchess Eleonore of Hesse, but I have found images of the stars being worn by Princess Alice, Grand Duchess of Hesse as early as the 1860s. I also believe that the pearl and diamond element later used in place of the stars comes from Princess Alice as well.
I have been so excited to share this find with all of you, and if you use this information, I hope you will be sure to credit my research!
Great find.Congratulations. Do you know the occasion where Princess Margaret wore the Star tiara. If i remember right she attended the State Banquet at the Queens State Visit to Germany in 19992

Congratulations The Royal Watcher!! What a tremendously exciting find! You have given us several treats recently. Thank you so much for sharing your research with us.

The picture was taken at the wedding of Donata zu Mecklenburg and Alexander von Solodkoff. You can find it in the book "Mecklenburg-Schwerin - Portraits und Photographien aus dem Großherzoglichen Haus" by Christian Ludwig Herzog zu Mecklenburg.
