I know Afghanistan’s current state is on everyone’s minds; such sad news. Afghanistan was once a Monarchy so, I thought we could talk about Afghan royalty and their jewels. Here is Queen Sarwar Sultan, Consort of Amir Habibullah and mother of King Amanullah. She was apparently Afghanistan’s most powerful Queen. She is literally draped in diamonds and emeralds. Look at that necklace and that star brooch. She didn’t like big flashy things unlike her predecessors, and as far as I know the Queen was never pictured wearing a tiara.
