I am currently undertaking a small project cataloguing and researching British royal brooches. I have come across a brooch worn by Queen Mary that I cannot find any information on. It seems to be a dark-colored stone surrounded by multi-colored gemstones. Does anyone have any info? Many thanks.

You said that you are undertaking a small project regarding the British Royal brooches. That is no small project! The collection of brooches of the British Royal Family is dauntingly vast. But that is of course also what makes it exciting and interesting to delve into. The brooch in your message judging by the Getty Image photo you posted with it is a large Sapphire brooch which has already been mentioned on this board previously.
