I have had sushi in Japan, and from my local highly regarded Japanese sushi chef in USA. I have never seen cream cheese used as an ingredient. It sounds unappetizing, actually. I notice JR Sushi uses it as an ingredient in more than half of the rolls they have advertised. How then, can this be “the real deal?” Does it actually complement the sushi? Is this a California invention?
