Our town has water from 2 different wells. The well serving the “downtown” is of much better “quality” - about 300 ppm (particles per parts of million), acceptable levels are below 50. The well serving us here on the other side of town, towards the highway, has about 3000 ppm and plenty of salts, other minerals and plenty of coliform bacteria.
We know these numbers since we had the town’s water tested in a government run laboratory in Guadalajara.
So, bottom line, the recommendation is to not drink the water out of the faucet. Especially if you live in our part of town.
