1600 is the standard fare. Several people I know of have paid that on pre-arranged fares.You just screwed the driver out of his legitimate fare. No wonder he was angry.Unless the cab is a registered airport cab, which the La Manz ones aren't, they can't be seen collecting the fare in front of the terminal which his why he wanted the money before arriving at the airport.They will usually drop you off in the parking lot, not in front of the terminal.Learn some more Spanish or sort the ride out in advance or both.
