We will have wind gusts exceeding 80 mph later this evening, early Sunday morning;
The storm will bring us approx. 20 inches of rain; and
We will experience ocean wave heights approaching 20 in Tenacatita Bay.
In 2015, we experienced Hurricane Patricia with just marginally higher winds when it made landfall in Emiliano Zapata/Pancho Villa after bring substantial damage to La Manzanilla. LM was without power for the next 3 or 4 days. Patricia blew away substantial palapa roofs (i.e. Quentin Valentina) and structures. Ave Maria Ascencion had down powerlines, palm fronds and other debris that made it impassible the morning after the storm (residents reopened one way traffic by the afternoon).
There was no immediate governmental assistance available to residents after the storm but CFE employees were everywhere and did a yeoman job first assessing damage in our power grid and then make the necessary repairs to restore power.
Simon reminds me very much of Patricia.
