Where is the recycling center now?

Is it still behind the primary school on Playa Dorada, or has it moved to the designated spot near the Jardin Escolar? Or somewhere else? Or is it extinct? TIA

I think it’s extinct. If anyone else knows, please let us know.

Aluminum cans are always a hot commodity and if you leave them outside your casa, someone will take them and sell them for a few pesos.

Clean cardboard is used by the school garden.

Plastic bottles can be left in the various wire containers around town (there’s one near The Lab among others).

Carol López used to have an arrangement for glass bottles but I don’t know if that’s still going.

Thanks, Spencer. Now I just need to find a helper with a large vehicle. I donate bottle caps either at Hotel Caiman or the fish (croc?) by The Lab, but I can't carry anything larger on my bike.

Thanks. Will do. I think I will ask Peter to take the cardboard from my new bike to the school garden in Cruz's truck, after I remove the tape. Then we can drive around to fill every wire fish and croc with recycling. Hasta pronto.

I do still have a recycle depot attached to the wall of my house 181 Manglares, corner of Perula.

The good news is that recently a big recycle truck from La Huerta came and took almost everything - cardboard, plastics (not the clamshell type, but yogurt containers, etc. yes)

Glass - no, they won't take that, and there is always an overflow of wine and liquor bottles here. It would be great to see them used somehow.

They would take metals, but I ask them to leave them for Maria and Javier, who can sell them (that's all kinds of metals, including aluminum cans) so do contribute those.
