Ambulance, phones, and options

Once again, sincere condolences to Mazinka at the loss of sweet Paul. What a terrible experience for her when the ambulance calls didn't go through. I understand that there are lots of problems with the phone services in La Manz right now, and because of that, I've tried to come up with some options. If you have a medical emergency, call 315-112-4048 first. If for some reason the call doesn't go through, one of our team members has allowed us to use his personal number, 315-100-4509. If that number isn't working, call 911. You will reach Proteccion Civil, who will then try to dispatch the ambulance team. All of these numbers should also work with WhatsApp. Unfortunately, there are two numbers listed on the emergency number page on the message board. The second number, 315-100-7934--reaches Francisco and his ambulance which no longer works. The ambulance service is working on a number of things right now, including a mapping program that will locate you on a map, training more drivers, and training new team members. We also will be offering another CPR class to members of the community in the fall. Also in the fall, the ambulance board will be organizing a community meeting where we can discuss accomplishments and issues with the ambulance service. We hope to see everyone there.
Thanks Jeanne, I didn’t realize until this incident that the second ambulance number on the emergency contact page was not valid. This is an old list from the prior message board so I did a quick edit and “scratched out” that number then reposted the list.
I was tempted to take the whole list down because it is not maintained and I don’t know if any other numbers on this list are inaccurate. However, it probably does more good than not, so I’m leaving it up and requesting a volunteer to go through it and make updates.
If anyone would like to take on this project, please email lamanzmod@gmail.com. Whomever takes this on should be reasonably bilingual so they can call each number and verify the information. SpencerC/Moderator
What I would like to know is whether the La Manzanilla ambulance is registered with the 911 contact? This number was eventually called and an ambulance from Emiliana Zapata came so that’s why I question why our ambulance wasn’t contacted instead
Exactly- so why didn’t they contact the ambulance here and were there any missed calls from them? My supposition is that they don’t have the phone contact of the ambulance here and that’s why they sent the ambulance from Emiliano Zapata, our next closest point. An issue that definitely needs to be clarified as soon as possible!
I assure you, we are connected to 911. We are part of that group through Proteccion Civil in La Huerta. Comandante Victor is our contact, and he has not only made us a part of that group, but he helped us obtain credentials for our team members. No, I'm quite sure 911 has our number, but I do have calls in to Comandante Victor to better understand what happened. I prefer to gather information from the source than to make assumptions that might be incorrect.Once I know more, I'll let you know.
Mazinka, I got Comodante Victor’s phone number for you. He’s in charge of our whole group of coastal ambulances and if 911. He should be able to answer your questions. I’m pming the number to you.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of phoning 911 from right the beginning to find out whether our ambulance is registered with them or not. I called and they told me to get in touch with Proteccion Civil. The answer is that the LM ambulance is NOT registered with them so that’s why an ambulance came from Emiliano Zapata. This is certainly a huge oversight…..
