Dear Mateo
Posting this on LMMB as the public has been waiting patiently for you to give a true transparency of the funds raised that were given in support of your restaurant, staff and Renana whose house was burnt down due to the fire from your property. There were several streams of fund raising done, a lot of money was raised and given, but as of now no transparency???
Your post on the LMMB on March 8 from you, you said
“We intend to use the funds raised and donated made to crocodile to support all the victims of the fire as best as we can at this time. The receipts of crocodiles will support and the funds will include Renana, our neighbour…..

The public supported the three groups but it appears the monies have not been distributed as it was intended.

Fund raisers include, from LMMB
1. Faith set up a collections bucket at the market
2. Trivia from PJ “portion given to Renana
3. Stephanie from the book store and second hand store all sales going into fund
4. Massages from crocodile
5. Galeria Lupis…. Donating 20% of sales to “Renana and Mateo”
6. A Go Find Me page
7. Guy Fieri dinner fund raiser
8. Silent auction and live auction at PB
9. Street dance outside of PB during Guy Fieri night

The sense of the public is you are controlling all the money that was raised, yet no accounting? Mateo the public and the town, including Guy Fieri family and personal friends supported the case, but the money is for the three groups.

Time to answer some questions…. its estimated close to 800,000
mx was raised.

So the questions?
1. How much money was raised?
2. Have you paid your staff for missing wages?
3. Have you paid Renana?

It's obvious you put a lot of time and thought into this post.
But,before you posted it, did you think to just approach Mateo personally?
Just asking, since my name is mentioned, and you seem to be questioning his integrity.

Most public funding I've been involved in, do show the amount collected. Usually they tell which portion goes where. The bottom half of the original post could have been written differently. Calling someone a coward is pretty weak.

If you had read Mateo’s post from back in March, you would see that he’s offered to share information about the money collected with anyone who’s interested. Spencer has kindly included that information from Mateo in this thread. Bottom line, just ask Mateo. This is ridiculous for people to question his integrity in this manner without simply talking to him.

I find this very disturbing starting with using “the public” to deliver a message that quite probably is yours and yours alone. Please don’t weaponize the message board to attack one of our own. I don’t know you and you don’t know your “public”.

Still waiting for your “love letter”
So Mateo, you were asked three direct questions and seem to have chosen not to respond.
Just to recap…..

People were asked to donate to three areas due to the fire that destroyed your business, your neighbours house and the expenses of your staff.

Since you control all the monies one can only assume you paid yourself, your staff (some were family) have been paid BUT the real question has your neighbour Renana been paid ???

Right now no one’s knows if you have paid any monies towards Renana’s property? And you alone can only answer that question.

And to be perfectly clear, when there is a public fundraiser, the public have the right to ask for transparency in the funds, my friends and public who donated to the three areas are the ones asking, I just happen to be the author of the posting to the message.

Well, Frank, I guess none of your friends have read the answers to your original post, nor did they use the phone number and link Mateo provided to get the information your friends desire. And I’ll bet not one of them actually approached Mateo and spoke directly to him. Until that happens, in my opinion you have no right to pester Mateo for your friends.

I saw Mateo today and we discussed this thread. His door (telephone) is open to anyone that wants to see a spreadsheet of the money raised.

If you call or WhatsApp Mateo and don’t get a satisfactory answer, then by all means, come back to the message board and state your grievances.

BTW, when I saw Mateo today he was volunteering and giving back to the community.

As for Reanna, if you drive down the road to Boca, you can see that she is rebuilding already.

Mateo has demonstrated time and again that he is a complete class act. I have total faith him, even if there wasn’t a spread sheet (which there is!).

Franks, why do repeat your questions when you didn't bother to read the answers the first time around? Mateo has been an open book, so it appears that you are publicly flogging him for no apparent reason.

Asked and,answered! Move on please. Your total lack of respect Is shining through. Do you understand how to use a message board as a weapon but not a phone.
To call and setup a meeting or wait. Did you already have one? What were the results I think you should share Frank You know for transparency purposes.
