2) Softball isn’t mens basketball or football.
3) Loosening the grip these coaches have on players may not be a bad thing.
4) How college softball used to work: Your kid committed in 8th grade. At that point the college coach owned her ass. If the coach didn’t find someone better, they committed them in their junior year. They really owned their ass then. Player had very few options. Coach could treat them like dirt and they knew it.
5) NLI doesn’t just benefit superstar pitchers and impact players. It isn’t only a luxury car and a big check for a star 5th year pitcher showing up on campus. It is starting to benefit regular, everyday players who are not receiving 100% one of the twelve full scholarships that a fully funded team receives.
