To be clear, I have noticed the comment calling us the thieves of the Chicago area🤣🤣. And yes, we have taken players from other teams. But to be clear, I would say on at least 90% of the occasion I do not reach out to girls or their parents who have not reached out to us first.
We have a multitude of college context across the country! So, why wouldn’t parents and players take advantage of that opportunity? Also, we have a pretty established history of not cutting players. So, when we commit to you, we commit to you for the whole thing… and that includes while you are in college, as well! We have assisted our alumni in movements within the portal, though I am no fan of it, on many occasions. And we continue to have our former players come and work out with us and our current team when they are in from school. Our team also operates under the philosophy of grabbing very serious players first and then allowing them to be semi adult in allowing them to have a lot of fun in these very short years that they have to enjoy this game. No black Mondays here!
However, I do think calling us thieves is a little unfair as I do almost all of the recruiting for the roster. So, please don’t point your finger at Coach Paul. Having said that, as I mentioned before, it is a rare occasion for me to reach out to a player whose family has not reached out to me first. (Also, aren’t there a couple organizations that are very good at playing this game who poach players all year long and nobody whines about them???)
That was a strict rule that I had with the Cheetahs, as many parents, players, and coaches asked for our assistance in getting their players and daughters recruited.
As a matter of fact, there was an 18U team from the Cheetahs who poached one of our pitchers, and then committed to the school that we got her started with. Did we scream and whine? Not at all!
We are thrilled for the player and her family because ultimately it is a phenomenal fit and a great chance of success for her!
Maybe this cleared some things up, maybe it didn’t.
But, if you have a daughter who is a serious player and is looking to have fun, you can always find us as we will be looking to build up our roster with the Mojo in the fall!
Paul and I have had a five-year run that I will stack up against any organization in this area.
Good luck to all of your daughters!!
