Never tell them until the season is over unless you want your kid sitting due to retaliation. Seen it happen many times on different teams. If they press you during the season for an answer just say you are still undecided. These same coaches want an answer during the season but already know who they will be cutting. Do they give these players a heads up? I never seen it happen. Hold your cards close, once you show your hand you lose any leverage.
