The schedule just came out for the Impact Caymol tournament. There are 12 teams in this 14u tournament. It is the only age division in the tournament. The Tournament is advertised as 3 days, Fri-Sun. Instead, it was someone's brilliant idea to have all 12 teams play the entire tournament in one day. Obviously, not all teams will play 6 games in one day but 2 of them will and some will play 5 games...in one day. Will all of the teams have a pitching staff deep enough to play that many games in one day? Most likely not. Half of the teams will arrive at 6:45AM, play 3 games in the morning and then have a 2-game break. The other half will play their pool games in the afternoon and one of those teams will be playing 6 GAMES IN A ROW. If one of the morning teams win all of their pool and bracket games, they will have a championship game at 6PM, they will be there for over 12 hours and have played 6 games. Thats IF, a big IF, the games start on time. Games are 90 minutes apart, so unless the games are 70 minutes finish the inning, how will they begin on time? This is FALL BALL... for 14 YEAR OLDS. What is IMPACT trying to prove by doing this?
