If you have very strong academics the limits to the money are much more than you can imagine. High academics like the UAA and Ivy League use the CSS profile for financial aid. The CSS is easily manipulated if you do your homework, unlike the FAFSA. My student is getting over 250K over 4 years for a division 3 high academic school with less than 10% acceptance rate she got into with good grades and softball skills. She even went test optional.
