MaxPreps choice for best player in Illinois heading into the season is at least a decent one, if not the right one. She was the primary pitcher on the team that won the 4A state title and is a 2026 P4 commit.

Not sure how MaxPreps decided on the Wisconsin choice though. She does happen to be a 2027 P4 commit, but not sure how you go from a 2025 high school season with a .473/.524/.797 slash line, 4 HR, 31 RBI, and striking out 12 times in 21 games as the team's starting shortstop to the best player in the state heading into this season.
