Thoughts on the USSSA changes in cut off dates? Will all other sanctions follow?

Every other sanction already switched to Sept 1 cut off. USSSA the last to go

I believe everyone is following what USA started this year. I believe PGF, Alliance and USSA are all making the change for next year. Announcements should come shortly,

Personally, not a big fan of the change but need to to have all the different organizations on the same birthdates to create cohession.

Do you think that most organizations are going to follow this change from the get go? If you have a group of talented girls who would now be split, do you split the team or keep them together?

I think changing the cutoff date back to what it was years ago will help keep the kids together by grade. I feel it will be better for everyone. Especially at the 14U level when you have some players in their freshman year of HS and others in grade school.

The few it does not benefit are the college freshmen with the early birthdays who didn't get much playing time at school. They can still play 18U in the summer.

23 years ago softball had 9/1 cutoff but it was 1 year later which forced almost all Juniors and all Seniors to play 18U. Not sure why USA move it forward 4 months instead of back 8 months like it was previously.
I agree that PGF, Alliance, Triple Crown, and USSSA were forced to make this change or create total travel ball chaos.

Those college freshman still can't play PGF, Alliance or ASA Gold.
