I think changing the cutoff date back to what it was years ago will help keep the kids together by grade. I feel it will be better for everyone. Especially at the 14U level when you have some players in their freshman year of HS and others in grade school.

The few it does not benefit are the college freshmen with the early birthdays who didn't get much playing time at school. They can still play 18U in the summer.
