Exit Velocity

How does exit velocity increase? Is it all about bat speed, or does the hitter's strength come into play?

EV increases for several reasons. Strength, sequencing your swing, timing, and swing intensity.

It can also increase by removing some swing deficiencies as well. If you feel your daughter has a solid fundamental swing, then look for a core/burst program for her. The stronger her legs and core are the better chance she has to create EV.

Bat speed and all the other metrics are relevant to how your daughter will hit, but there's absolutely no substitute for swinging at strikes and being on time. Although, I'm guessing being on time has a lot to do with high exit velocity.

Exit velocity increases by swinging the bat faster, swinging a heavier bat also plays a role in exit velocity.

The hitters strength absolutely plays a role in bat speed along with hitting mechanics. Timing and hitting the sweet spot of the barrel also play a big part in hitting the ball harder.
