Could be anything, like another head coach in the area that was accused of MAJOR abuse both verbally and physically and , BAM just ended up working for a travel organization in the southwest suburbs. I would want to know what REALLY happened before sending anyone to that school...

The fact that they removed a coach speaks volumes about the administration; most just let them linger as long as there aren't any lawsuits. I'd think you'd want to judge a program on the current staff.

How do you fire a coach 48 hours before the season? Dying to know what happened. My daughter had been considering UIC.

Unless the new staff is mutually considering your daughter, I wouldn’t worry about it

Coach Lynn has been on paid leave from team since December. Administration had several complaints from players and families that weren’t playing about unfair standards and practices. The new administration sided with the players while majority of team backed the coaching staff. The remaining staff. Is in place so this appears to be the compromise.
UiC moved conferences in the last two years have not been very competitive so this move could of been done based on record but to do it now, 48 hours before the season begins is hard to justify.

This is interesting as the administration at my daughter's school backed the coach in a toxic, culture where only a few players support the coach. More players have quit this year than players who support the coaches. School administration received 15-20 complaints from current and former players who played the past 2 years with many players citing mental health and administration retained coaches. Some players are afraid to say anything for fear of retaliation.

WOW just googled 2018 coaching issues softball DePaul ... you are right... Where is that coach now..? shameful.

The DePaul coach who took Depaul to the World Series 4 or 5 times was beloved by his players. He was old school and something he did, which was a light hearted joke was blown into him slapping a player. It was the old look up, look down and then he flicked her nose. It aas cause for the new President and AD to have grounds for termination. He went to Auburn and eventually retired last year. Hs back in Chicago helping a travel softball program in SW suburbs.
It’s a different time and world and no longer can you joke around, show tough love or even sit a kid without the possibility of the player and parents going to the administration wanting your head on a platter.
