The all-state teams are FAR too large. Last year, first team had 28 kids and second and third teams were similar.
Instead, give me nine players per team (27 players across first, second and third teams).
To be, for example, a first team all-state catcher and be one of 7 catchers on the first team is “everyone gets a winners trophy” culture - and does a disservice to the players.

I was just thinking we should take some accomplishments away from hard working athletes because a 40 something that over exaggerates their ability in high school says so.

I’m far older than 40s, son. But, thank you for giving us an opportunity for reflection…
One of the things that make message boards work is the opportunity for threaded, multi-participant discussion in a topic-specific environment. It’s what makes boards still viable in the age of X/Twitter, which is abundantly riddled with reflective trigger analyses of “you suck!”, “you’re dumb!”, etc.
I suggest that there are better places for the intellectually lazy degradation of character and imputation of motives. Perhaps you’d consider an X account (or a pen pal at a federal facility)?
An example of an alternative response, one that would actually inform our audience and perhaps lead to more enlightened outcomes, would be:
“I don’t agree with this idea. Here’s why {insert rationale and supporting evidence}. What about this alternative?”
We can all be better, and I hope this post may inspire you to take that essential first step to a more fulfilling, joyful and inspiring life.
