DuKane Champ is out!

Glenbard North exits stage left early. Granted they lost to another DuKane foe, but come on.
That conference is a bit overrated this year.

Clearly the talent in this conference is down from past few years. Almost no exciting Freshman this year entered the fray.

In another thread, the MaxPreps data showed DuKane being a clear step below SWSub. What other rating are you speaking of, and which other conference should be above DuKane?

The case is not the relative nature to other conferences but instead is the relative strength versus past seasons within that conference.

OP said “overrated”, which would presume some type of published or calculated rating - or at least substantial public pronouncements about the superiority of the conference. I’ve not been aware of either, thus the query.

So is it:

(1) DuKane is less competitive than prior years?
(2) DuKane is not as good as other conferences this year?
(3) DuKane is improperly ranked (by… ?)
(4) DuKane is not as comparatively competitive compared to other conferences this year compared to prior years?

Or maybe it’s just a hater, hating!

Re: WN, you can't be the best in your conference if you finished fourth!

That being said, their five losses were:

Wheaton South - lost 1-0 two times.
St. Charles East - lost 2-1.
St. Charles North - lost 5-2 w/o their pitcher.
GBN - got plain beat 4-1.

They played competitive games, and their game against Wheaton South this week is a chance for redemption!

They played GN on the last day of the season to determine the champ. 4 Teams were all in it until the last 2 days.
