Softballs

I'm sitting here in Crown Point watching Queen of the Hill tournament. I'm watching the game on field 8. The batting cages are directly behind centerfield. Why do hear the loud crack of softballs being hit in the cages but nothing but silence or a faint thump when the balls are being hit in the games. It's very noticeable. Only a few balls are being hit hard.

It is not just the balls. Those 3 fields by the water tower in Crown Point are without a doubt the worst fields the team has ever played on. Just stop renting those fields out, they absolutely suck and are dangerous for the infielders.

Yes, the balls still suck.

Because they don't do soft toss during the game. Batting cage heroes are a dime a dozen.

It doesn't matter if it's soft toss or hard toss those balls aren't any good. Even the few that were hit deep from a couple of I'll just say decent sized girls just sounded like a squishy thump. Hopefully they're just finally trying to get rid of the last supply they have. Hopefully this tournament is the end of them

Been there done that. They know it's a problem. They just don't want to admit it. They should just put those balls up for sale on ebay as practice balls to recoup some of there money back

Donations are always accepted at the Church. I bet there is a church League that accepts any kind of Donations to helpwith youth sports.

PGF, and Betcher have a poor reputation as far as the quality of balls they use in their tournaments. This is nothing new and has been going on for a long time.

I would like to see the tournament directors use the same ball that the girls use in high school.
