Getting reps in today and posting

Anyone else having their kid getting reps outside today and posting the workout? This would truly show your daughter's commitment to softball lol

On a side note, will IU softball get upgrades at their facility with new money revenue from the football team?

I love the videos that the girls are bouncing the ball off a wall and catching barehanded. These college coaches love that. Amazing videos.

My DD is doing cold plunges and outdoor tee work… called her out from school so we could get the video while the conditions are this bad. We also put her in a weighted vest and leg irons.

She’s either gonna have pneumonia, or a full ride to Oklahoma.

IU could definitely use an upgrade, as well as several other B1G programs. If you’re going to compete for the top talent, you’re already at a disadvantage compared to SEC/ACC with the weather. Time to upgrade.

I’ve heard chatter, but nothing definitive, about B1G creating a warm weather shared location for preseason games. If they can’t get NCAA to move season dates, this may be the next best solution. Why not use the USA Softball complex for the month of February for preseason games - or a similar setup for conference round robins (as opposed to having Illinois fly to Oregon, then Washington, the California…)

B1G and ACC definitely weren’t considering anything other than football when they created these national footprints.

We witnessed several D1 committed players working out in a dome that was not heated very well. Both softball and baseball commits.

Maybe your daughter was at home eating Doritos and ice cream. Since you have all these salty comments about the athletes who work out.

As has been covered ad nauseam on this board before, this isn't about making fun of the kids.

It's the PARENTS.

Check out that Twitter post above. That is a D1 coach and former pro player. She obviously sees the absurdity of the stupid posts, and is making good fun of them.

My kid eats Doritos and ice cream, and works out in poor heated domes... and is D1. The absurdity occurs when mom and dad try to create a Kobe/Tiger Twitter persona for their kid - especially when they haven't earned anything.

It’s always the parents that are the problem. Many of these parents lost their minds over sports. They try and do everthing for little Susie. Just sit back and enjoy these years. 9/10 your little Susie isn’t going D1.

Slappers out of the box is not the problem. The problem is the umpires are too senile to call it thus the Cheetahs (and others) exploit it.
Worry not, for the eye in the sky at the college level will not allow cheating.

Or maybe they call it more often than they should? 90% of the time that a slapper is called out of the box, the ump is guessing anyway. If a slapper is talented and fast enough to hit the ball and be halfway down the line before anyone knows what happened, let it go, blue. Also, stay out of Cheetahs business.

If being out of the box isn’t a big deal and just play better defense is the answer, maybe the pitcher should be allowed to start 2 feet in front of the rubber when facing a slapper. Only some rules are important.
