New to the game

Just curious, how do you get on the Bandits or Chill teams? I know I'm facing ridicule for not knowing, but are there any tryouts or anything?

The Chill holds an annual metrics event (some time in Jan/Feb) that serves as a tryout.

Can't speak on the Bandits - though a friend and his daughter were contacted via DM on social to try out for the Bandits. She's now on the team.

The best way to get on the Bandits radar is to crush it when she plays against the Bandits.

For the Bandits your DD need to be seen by Bill or someone he trusts. He has taken whole teams at the youngest levels in the past. Anything else it's pretty much your DD needs to be invited. And remember... She is competing against girls from all over the country.

Gerry used to hold a skill evaluation camp in the past. Not sure if he is still doing it. It is pretty much the same thing. Your DD needs to invited to the organization.

Much the same. For IMG there are not full org level tryout days. It's about getting on a coaches radar, play against them, have film, and from word of mouth from other coaches and folks they trust to evaluate talent. Most of the teams host open practices and private workouts throughout the year. It's not just something you show up at tryout in late July. The ground work needs to be set before hand. Show that you can compete at that level, reach out to attend practices, look for opportunities to sub, etc.

Getting on the actual IMG national team is done this way, the thousand other teams are just like every other org that franchises

Not nationally no but they have multiple teams at the various age groups and only 1 of them is typically high quality.

The Florida team is a one off, from a pitching instructor from that area that has worked with an IMG kid playing for years that has been playing in the pros down there. Reached out to the org director and asked if he could fall under the org for 2 years (16U team)

I'd wait to see how IMG operates after doubling in size and adding a bunch of teams up north. Can they keep up with their standard in recruiting? Maybe, maybe not.
