A book that does a general survey of quantum physics is better than a detailed course because... at this point we're looking for overviews. Getting "trapped" into doing endless math in quantum physics, for example, is the wrong direction to go because a "new math" has been uniquely developed by Matzke that explains quantum physics more effectively. Besides, a general search on "the internet" which Mark disses, contains PDF files of textbooks that can easily be surveyed quickly. Mark is the quintessential mainstream education sucker who falls for the fallacy of the "qualified academic" too quickly, unable to trust his own intuition. The reason for that is that he's heavily invested in LEFT brain thinking rather than right brain / left brain balance. That can be an advantage but it's a detriment when it comes to intuition, overviews, metaphors, music, art and philosophy. Mark is a self-confessed autistic / Asperger's affected person, or what used to be called an "idiot savant". I can see that the idiot part refers to the right hemisphere, in Mark it's atrophied, but the left hemisphere is his smart-ass "savant" part that posits that I, who am aware of the seven intelligences, intuition, hemisphere balance and overviews, am not "qualifies" by his "idiot savant aspergers" standard to DARE comment on ANY aspect of quantum physics, especially when I use "the internet" rather than a "college textbook". The world will go down the toilet as a result of people like Mark. It's abherrant, short-sighted, frustrating and outrageous beyond any further comment. I'll go so far as to say that there is likely a case to be made for a "mental retardation" component to his thinking here. I've seen groups of retards being taken on grocery store tours and it's not pretty. I can't believe the levels of human contorted development distortions when I see them. I'm similarly affected by many of Marks' comments here. It's a really horrifying thought and I'm done with it. It's ghastly as in a horror movie. Dave Pizer's obtuseness and poker faced glazed eyes sometimes struck me the same way in several incidents.
