Bill Faloon, and until recently Kent, and the guy running this thing as well as Cryonics Asset Pres'n Group... might have DESIGNED this operation to intentionally ISOLATE the young people from the INSTITUTIONAL memory embedded in the older cryonicists that would normally be part of the atmosphere in an annual cryonics/Alcor conference.
Why isolate them? Even though the internet exists and cryonics institutional memory is all over the place, the personal meat-space meeting could have a different effect on them and THAT must be a CONTROLLED environment, to a certain extent, where conditions can be set up to gain traction in certain ways without old-time interference and influence. Frankly, I think it's abhorrent.
Standard protocol for inviting college and high school age people into cryonics ought to be via typical ads, websites, applications for scholarships, and invitations to annual meetings where EVERYONE in cryonics or Alcor is invited.
I'm not involved anymore having moved into the Quantumonics modality so I don't have a dog in this race. I do tend to get easily caught up in legacy issues like this occasionally as you can see from my Reddit/cryonics posts but I'm working hard to quit. I actually deleted my latest posts.
The idea of cryonics gave me meaning and purpose in life for 50 years so I have a sort of historical interest in it but my current action plan is angled much differently now after reading Matzke, Russell and others in quantum science.
