===========MY earlier answer to a question on Reddit I think===============================
Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback on this. In short. no. I converted from a procrastinating pre-arranged last-minute dropout to full drop out once I realized, beginning in March 2022, the full implications of the brain-mind dualism in a "double universe" of two sets of provable rules: Classical and Quantum. I'm coming to terms with own immortality. [quip on coming to terms with my MORtality, get it?]. I've gone full immortal-mind for about 15 months now. I created a composite scientific "religion" or "religion-replacement" called Quantumonics that requires more technical knowledge in quantum physics than it does faith. Russell is helping me with that. He wrote "Prospects of Eternity" which has taken precedence for me over Ettinger's "Prospect of Immortality".
Thanks for the other names doing ASC or what I call "gluteronics". It's nice to the prefix "glu" because it reminds me of "glue" as we "glue" the pieces together permanently. And if you're correct about deWolf [who I was calling that guy in Oregon, thanks for the memory jog] on the matter of "theoretical possibility" and "tech more advanced than that needed to reverse cryopreservation", then that might be his way of proposing quantum computer simulation without saying it due to possible negative audience response like I got here in this forum.
Think about this: The tech needed to reverse cryopreservation is usually thought of as "nanotech" a la Drexler/Merkle. That scale is 10*-9 meters. A technology "even more advanced" could merely mean a quantum scale of 10*-23, 34 or eventually 43, but I don't have a feel for the differences in those scales yet. On this point, I would add deWolf to my A-list of Seung and Hayworth to research and possibly ask what they see as a quantum-computer reanimation. It's especially timely now with the breakout of AI personality simulators, the reaching of Moore's Limits, and experiments with what are being called quantum computers. The edges of future reanimation technology via quantum computers seems, to me, to be coming slowly into focus.
In my view, cryonics is about to have quantum-reality appear in front of them as a real issue as it relates to the human mind and to the brain preservation/recovery efforts. We're about to enter a whole new phase of discussion. The old classical cryonics world of 10*-9 is history. Drexler nanotech didn't work and disappeared from the cryonics radar screen it seems.
The practical real world issue of whether ASC becomes expedited along with a "technology even more advanced than that needed to reverse cryopreservation (deWolf)".... i.e. quantum-machines... is an irrelevent issue for me at this point because my position is that we're already there. WE are already quantum-minds-in-aether as Ettinger alluded to at the end of Chapter 5 of his Man Into Superman. My additional vision, building on Ettinger's, is that the mind-in-aether is projected into the quantum-frequency-connectome-meat-brain-antenna that we think originates "us".
My interest in surveying deWolf/Seung/Hayworth on ASC recovery is only to confirm that they must, in principal, agree with me that quantum computation simulation will be required. From there, we get into some areas that are wacky even by my standards because the artificial-connectome-antenna that will be built for recovery from ASC will, itself, be capable of "hosting" a mind-currently-in-quantum-reality. That mind will occupy the artificial-quantum-connectome AQC and might refuse any upload of scanned data from an ASC patient.
I haven't thought it through fully yet but it just occurred to me that there is no data in the ASC patient to be scanned. The connectome and biological dendritic connections are there to be scanned but mind-as-process was never there to begin with. Our mind is not in our brain. Our mind is a quantum phenomenon that is transmitted to the brain. It's as if ASC preserves the TV set expecting to capture and preserve The Three Stooges or Star Trek. Those movies are not IN the TV. They were merely broadcast TO the tv set. Similiarly our minds are narrowcasted to your brain-antenna. Preserving the antenna does not preserve "us".
Enough for today, thanks for the question.
