The flowery kalak groaned as his children’s pleas became more urgent. He was naďve – he had no clue where to even start taking care of children. He wished he knew – his ears were starting to ring with their excessive whining. Narcissus tried to fight every urge to just kick them out so he could sleep. Thankfully, Margaery came to the den like he had asked, but based on the hormone-filled scent that approached, his worries were true. ”Narcissus, I’m here. Don’t make me wait, I’m eager to plea…” He stopped with the pups and came to the entrance of his den, catching the rose covered lass stiffen up and give a nervous laugh. He quickly interjected - ”I know this is a mood-killer, but I…” he gulped, finding it very hard to utter the next words. ”…I need help.”. At that moment, one of the pups gave out a pleading howl – he couldn’t tell who it was as all their distinct tones were starting to meld into one giant conglomerate sound that kept pounding in his skull. Instead, his face scrunched into a wince and his ears folded back momentarily before he spoke again. ”I would’ve gotten Evergreen, but you were the closest and…” Narcissus sighed before hurriedly speaking once more. ”And because Crowe is being mopey, I’m stuck with them.” The kalak then became silent as he was filled with feelings of embarrassment and self-annoyance and other emotions which he often did not acknowledge, for once drowning out the pups cries. Had he done a father’s job before, it would’ve been simple to tell that they were hungry. But he didn’t know jack about feeding babies when a mother wasn’t around to nurse them. The kalak’s olive green orbs attempted to look up to her bright blue eyes as he spoke once more. ”I do want to take you, Margaery, I really want you. But because Crowe isn’t acting on Echo’s dying wish right now, I must take care of them. I just haven’t got the slightest idea of how to-“ Another cry echoed in his den, causing him to wince once more. ”- get them to quiet down.” He paused once again before speaking one last time. ”I’ll accompany you back to your den, that is, if you still want me, after the little ones are asleep again. I promise I’ll give you a hell of a time.” He tried to muster a flirtatious head tilt and smile, but his mind was more on getting his children to stop crying and sleep. Actions and thoughts and "Words."
