Either a lot of time passed, or little at all as his ash coated body that blended so well with the ground lay curled up. Icarus was not asleep, no. He hadn’t slept well in ages, and surely, it was very hard for him to fall asleep in the first place. His ear flicked as he heard steps, but he held his body evermore still. Unfortunately, whomever owned those footsteps ended up right in front of him. A sniffle came from the wolf just before he felt a nose touch his cheek. At this sensation, his eyes slowly flicked open, this wolf’s words soft and feminine. ”Hey, hey…are you okay? Hello? My name’s Soliel, are you alright?” A small groan left his maw, muttered, mindless words following. ”Okay and alright are overstatements.” It took a moment for the realization to kick in as this lass laid down on the ashen ground near him. A female? This surprised him. He had not been approached by one in ages. There was also a certain warmth to her…both in the figurative and the literal sense. When his eyes finally adjusted, by him lay a female similar in color to himself, but…she was on fire? The femme did not seem to be in pain, however. She sat there, beautiful and radiant, that smile gracing her face almost hiding the tears that she had cried too well. Icarus lifted his head, attempting to make eye contact with the lass known as Soliel. ”Icarus.” He spoke bluntly, and after a few moments, he cleared his throat to correct his rudeness. ”My name is Icarus.” Embarrassed, Icarus turned his focus away from Soliel and made an effort to hide his wings so that she would not see the feathers molting off of his body without being too obvious. That was what turned females away in the past, alongside his disheveled appearance. He really did not engage in self care, he was not the most cleanly wolf. The fact that this girl, literally on fire, was not fazed by such. She seemed to be genuinely worried about him, moreso than him for himself. Words left his maw once more as he looked back to Soliel. ”So…why’d you stop to help? I wasn’t necessarily calling for it.” His eyes squinted in annoyance…but frankly? It felt nice to be cared for. It felt really nice. Just as nice as the warmth radiating from her. Actions & Words.
