While her brothers and sisters had all gotten adopted, she refused to give up hope on her mother. Mother was just sleeping all those weeks . . . Months. Before she knew it, an awful stench filled the den with the Springs heat. She had to move out, leaving mother behind. As she moved towards the only thing that resembled safety, she felt the silence of the burnt forest wash over her. A small puddle of water sat before her, as she looked in it she could see her reflection. All of the wolves she had seen were not like her, not like her family. They were different, outcasts. So how did they move on and find parents so quickly?
Her amber eyes watched intently at the face that stared back at her. She hadn't experienced or even realized how much of her life had slipped by. All she had done her whole existence was learn to survive on her own. Her frustration began to boil, she had nothing to show for. Her family were all gone with their own families, and yet she stayed alone with the hollow remains of her mothers once warm body for months. As tears began to roll down her cheeks, she felt a warmth in her stomach. She let out an unholy scream, fire spewing from her mouth in every direction. Yet just as quickly as she began to speak in flames, it stopped.
The fire crackled, hissed and caught on the already burnt and dried trees. Panic began to set in as it quickly began to grow, what had she done? Her wings quickly propelled her upward and away from the smoke and flames, her massive body quick to take into any direction. As she flew, her amber eyes pinned downwards, watching the destruction she had caused. She saw a grey and black mass running from the flames. She dove in a little closer, yes. Yes, he was a wolf. She wasn't about to be a murderer either, she could not have that weight on her of letting an innocent die over her battle in her head.
Her massive dark violet wings quickly clung to her sides, allowing her to dive for him. As she reached him, her wings spread back out as she nearly missed the ground. In an instant, she had clasped her jaws onto his scruff and locked her limbs around him to hold him in place. She flapped harder, carrying more weight than she ever had before and racing for the sky as the flames burned bright under her. Her amber eyes clouded with tears from the smokes irritation, she had to find somewhere safe. As she raced for somewhere to go, she found a clearing of nothing but barren and ash. She quickly lunged for it, lowering herself rapidly to make it. Her body gave out a couple of feet in the air, letting the male go as she tumbled forward coughing from the intake of smoke. With a couple of wheezes, she arose to compose herself. Her eyes set on the male, checking him thoroughly to see if he was injured at all. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to drop you or for any of this to happen . . . Are you alright?" Her wings laid down on the ground as she rested them. Her own body was something she had grown used to carrying around, but another wolf of about the same size if not bigger? That was not something she could say was easy.
Walk, "Talk", Think.
"Burn it down!"
