The young lad knew he was to be eventually married off. It rankled him. Why should he take some cheating, lying wife? His mother had cheated on his father; he knew his future wife would just cheat on him too. He was already resentful. All women were the same, lustful w h o r es who slept with anyone but their mate . . . and he hadn’t even chosen to be thrown into the marriage pool. He knew what had sparked the latest war, the one between Tarben and Sabertooth - what a shocker, yet another unfaithful girl. He scoffed to himself. Khasinau was disgusted with Queen Lucaya, and resentful of his lot in life; he didn’t want to bind himself to some foreign girl. Yet, he would have to. Nibris and Lucaya had agreed to this, for the sake of peace between all the packs of Starfall. The Vampire Queen had reduced her nephew to just a peace tool. A pawn. Bitter clouds washed across Khasinau’s pelt as he sat in the early morning light, dark eyes carrying resentment, unhappiness, and resignation. He just hoped his wife wouldn’t be such a traitorous, cuckolding s l u t like Daneliya, who had left him alone without a good mother to know.
