“Helloooo?” came the call. Khasinau turned his head to face the winged Aurora girl who now came spiraling down from the sky. She, he had to admit, was lovely. But lovely women also cuckolded men. They embarrassed their mates, made fools of them. “Didn’t know Hawthorne had sky-pelted folk. Whose presence am I being graced by?”
Khasinau dipped his head in greeting to the girl. “My name’s Khasinau. Queen Lucaya’s nephew,” he said gruffly. “I used to be a vampire like most of my family - until Starfall mysteriously changed my bloodline and appearance like happens every so often.” He studied the spunky femme in front of him. “You would be?” he asked her, careful not to sound demanding. Khasinau knew his manners, even if acting upon them wasn’t his favorite thing to do.
