Themis couldn't help but gush with pride for her boy Deimus. Her son had truly grown up. He was her pride and joy now, her only son currently. If she and Mabbit had pups in the future.. well maybe that would change. But for now, her boy was grown. Married, happy, and living his life. If only she could express to him just how proud she was of her boy. All Themis wanted to do was share her life experiences with her son, give him some pointers for marriage, and tell him how proud she was. That would be a conversation for a different night. She would let Deimus and Yesimire enjoy their wedding night. Maybe grandkids would be in the question soon. That would be exciting. Her and Mabbit, grandparents.. that felt weird to think about. Themis stood, the sunset patterns on her coat allowing clouds to float happily through, watching the couple speak privately amongst themselves. Deimus was smiling happily. All her emotions changed when Mabbit brought home the news. How he had caught Phobus doing horrible things to Wisteria. How he had taken her, on her wedding night, all because he felt scorned from the girl for choosing Helius. Her heart felt shattered at the words. That poor girl, having been subject to the wrath of her monster of a son. Not that she even liked to call him that at this point. She wasn't upset at Mabbit for not looking after him, she was upset at herself for not putting a stop to Phobus earlier, for not making sure he would be with her when returning home. She should have known his ulterior motives for attending the wedding. A part of her had wanted to believe he was just happy for his brother, to see the biggest day of Deimus' life unfolding. But instead, he chose to make such a wonderful day, a nightmare. Tears welled in her eyes as Mabbit explained everything. Her bastard son was now standing before the Queen of Hawthorne, probably about to be killed. Some part of her accepted this. Her tears weren't shed for her son. No, instead they were shed for Wisteria and Helius. The call rang out through the territories. It was Lucaya, calling for the jury in Phobus' trial. The Queen stood, glancing over at Deimus and Yesimire. Deimus had overheard everything about his brother, and he looked pissed. If Themis had been in Deimus' shoes, then she would be feeling the same exact emotions. It was his wives sister. Family now. Phobus had intentionally screwed everything up all for the sake of revenge. Themis pressed tightly against Mabbit as they made their way back, trying to keep her composure the best that she could. She agreed with his sentencing, and she wouldn't try to fight. He had committed an inexcusable crime to someone of her family. He deserved everything that was coming to him. He deserved Lucaya's wrath. As they entered the Hawthorne territory, Themis became increasingly worried that Lucaya would blame her, for keeping Phobus around. She had hoped that her boy would change, like Deimus had. Deimus had changed, so why couldn't Phobus? Why did her son so blatantly reject becoming good? Why couldn't he just ####ing grow up? The lady was caught up in her thoughts and before she knew it, they were standing before Lucaya. She caught sight of the monster that had attacked Wisteria, and she no longer saw him as her son. Her yellow eyes narrowed in anger at the boy, before looking up at the Queen of Hawthorne. While she took another look at the monster, she got flashbacks of when he was a pup, suckling at her belly after she had given birth. He seemed so innocent back then, so pure and sweet.. What went wrong? Why could Deimus change but not Phobus? Had she done something wrong? If somehow.. Phobus managed to escape Lucaya's wrath.. would he come for her and her family? No. She wouldn't allow that. She'd sooner sacrifice herself then let anyone hurt her family. Her yellow suns averted the crimson gaze of the monster, as she turned her head and pressed her forehead against Mabbit's shoulder.
