Kanaya sat at one of the many cliffsides, trying her best to keep her composure. Of course, her child was fine, right? The crimson-skirted lass had not seen Drevis for a while. Her daughter look-a-like was a adult, after all. Drevis likely wanted to find somewhere she was loved, just like Kanaya wanted herself years back with Damian….had it really been that long already? She sighed, and once again became aware of the small patch of copperhead snake scales that rested on the right side of her jaw. That too, when Kanaya got trapped in Ashen Woodlands with Aya and Drevis, seemed so long ago. These copperhead scales had also graced her lower back legs, from calf down to heel, and a large patch on her upper right shoulder, but it was those spots that Kanaya had grown much more accustomed to. Her attention was drawn to footsteps nearing, so naturally, Kanaya’s ears flicked back first to listen. The wolf spoke - ”Hello, grandmother.” Their voice was scruffy, but showed no intent of malice or even a snarky attitude with his choice of words. Kanaya then turned her head to see Kodlak, one of her grandsons, who was also graced with scales. His scales, however, were those of an albino python and his were scattered along his chest and shoulders, almost like a chestplate a human might wear, but not that dense. Her grandson had also received her auburn coloring, but on his tail. His eyes were of amber, like Nibris’s. Kanaya’s emerald eyes met his as she spoke. ”It’s nice to see you Kodlak. How have you been?” Her head followed his body as he made his way to sit next to her, but just as he got comfortable, a howl came from Lucaya. Both of the pitch hued snake scaled wolves whipped their heads to the sound, looked back at each other, and immediately got up and ran towards her call – the urgency was concerning to the both of them, so mind-boggling that both only could think of and feel fear as they bolted. However, it seemed like despite how fast they ran, they were some of the last of members to arrive. Following them was Lahmer and Aya, who had been buddies for a while. Kanaya was sure they were on the later side because of their tends to gossip. Kanaya had noticed the two of Daneliya’s children that stayed here – Oracle and Kelsea, slowly walk up. Kelsea, a pretty much normal wolf, was visibly shaking – she was intimidated, practically scared by the queen. Oracle was as much of a rock as he could be for his sister, however, you could see in his dragonfly wings that he was scared too. Shortly after all of their arrivals, Lucaya gave her speech, and upon the words, ”They took my sister as well…Drevis.”, the crimson skirted, emerald eyed lass, felt the rage fill inside of her, along with fear and disgust. Why would Drevis be targeted out of everyone? This feeling was so strong that it rang through Kodlak, while Aya and Lahmer had only picked up on the anger, but they weren’t phased. Aya had always bullied Drevis, so frankly, to her, it was a good thing her younger sister was out of Hawthorne. Kodlak felt Kanaya’s anger resonate through him too, and while Kanaya listened, her posture, raised hackles, her eyes, and snarled jaw could not amass to the feelings she had boiling inside, ready to blow. Kodlak stood by his grandmother, however, although his feelings similar, his posture remained cool and collected. Upon the end of Lucaya’s speech, Kanaya stepped forward, in which Kodlak stepped up promptly after. He spoke for her, since it seemed that his grandmother was also at a loss for words. Kodlak met his mother’s eyes with his own amber ones and spoke. ”Mother, we would like to be turned.” He spoke, once again his words scruffy, but this time, anger laced through these words. If Lucaya were to meet her mother’s eyes, she would see so many emotions running through the emerald hues: anger, grief, and one that Lucaya would know all too well because of her decease sibling Signless – the deep down, deep dark, desire to kill for blood, that originated way before vampirism was found among their family. Actions & Words.
