Kanaya moved quickly once the war was declared over, even though moving away from her deceased lover’s side was hard to do. A truce was made, although Hawthorne and those packs sided technically won. She first grabbed Kodlak who had fainted from blood loss, but she checked – he still had a pulse. She quickly whipped up a paste and leaves for bandaging and placed it on the stump where his leg used to be connected. She then hoisted his body up onto her shoulders and started to head for Hawthorne- she’d place him in his den, and then come back for Damian. After she arrived to Kodlak’s den and made sure he was settled, still breathing, and the like, she was on her way back to the Proving Grounds, however, the trip was cut short as she noticed Damian’s body rest on the ground amongst other wolves – a meeting. The tears Kanaya had in her eyes were hidden somewhat by the rain, but her overall demeanor made it obvious she was upset. She slowly made her way up to the meeting, her emerald eyes scanning over all the corpses. Her mate…her daughter…her grandson…and Oracle, a boy she never had an opportunity to know, but her eyes wandered to Kelsea, his sister. She was a wreck, grief almost forever etched into her face. Tears constantly ran down her eyes…she was close to her brother. Kanaya’s ears listened as Lucaya gave her goodbyes. First was Damian, which caused her to sob, looking to her daughter at the end of that line and attempting to meet her crimson eyes. Next was Helheim, who the crimson-skirted lass could tell that Lucaya herself held back tears. Following was Aya…poor Aya. Kanaya’s eyes widened as she got a closer look at her daughter’s mangled body. The wings that graced her back were a broken mess, and not much farther up her body was her neck – snapped, distorted, contortioned…Kanaya had to look away. It was a sight. But not as much of a sight as Oracle…his body was mauled. His death was Beartooth’s doing, and this was when Kelsea looked to be the worst. From before, she had collapsed as Lucaya had started her words about him. When Lucaya finished her goodbyes and there was a pause for others to speak, Kanaya moved forward, composing herself before speaking. ”Damian, my love…Helheim, my grandson…and Aya, my daughter.” She started, motioning her head to each of them. She figured it would be better to group them all together in a farewell speech – if she had spoken for any longer than necessary, she’d collapse in front of everyone. She took a deep breath before speaking again. ”It saddens me that these family members of mine had to be taken away so soon, some with more of a life lived and others with less experience. May you keep each other company above, and watch over those of us still here today. We all will miss you.” Her last line was more broken by held back sobs. As she stepped back, her emerald eyes noticed Kelsea step forward. Her words were shaky and short. ”Thank you…Oracle…for protecting me. I love you…” A hiccuped sob left her maw before she stepped back. The next few moments were silence until Lucaya spoke again, assigning new rankings and bounties. When Kelsea was told her role, her eyes attempted to meet Lucaya’s and she gave a nod. She obviously knew of the Zeta duties – watching the children. There were sure to be more to come after the war, perhaps even some of her own? Fara was also a Zeta who was pregnant with children. Obviously the bounty remained on Phobus, but also other Callie of Sindri, who had killed Damian, and three wolves of Tarben. Additionally, Lucaya talked about Lahmer and Drevis still being in Tarben, and Aethelflaed of Tarben now being a Hawthorne prisoner. When Lucaya asked Nibris if he had anything else to add, although it was not Kanaya’s usual behavior to interrupt, she spoke once again. ”Pardon the intrusion, but I want to quickly say that my healing services are open to anyone who may need them. I must get going though – Kodlak’s leg must be tended to.” Once finished, she gave a small nod, and turned off away from the meeting. Actions & Words.
