The lass, water running through her blood, was surprised to hear her queen call. She quickly bounded through the marshes, her paws slapping the earth. But when she arrived there, she saw the queen raging at her daughter, and Asmodeus, the son, stepping in to protect the young princess; Swallowtail knew she had to intervene before somebody died. “You don’t even act like you care for us, why would we want to stay? You hid from us our whole life that our father is out there, that he wants something to do with us but because you have ill feelings toward him you won’t allow it.”
‘Your father was a womanizing bastard who cares nothing for you except to be used as breeders-” she heard the queen hiss, and at that moment, Swallowtail stepped out, noting terrified Princess Vryko. “With all due respect, my queen. What is going on?” As Athena swiveled her head to look at Swallowtail, she was shocked by the raw insanity that was there; this woman was more unsteady than Swallowtail had thought. She’d miscalculated. Gravely.
“I’m charging you to keep an eye on all three of my children,” Queen Athena spat. “The traitors. You will not let them leave your sight upon pain of death, and if any of them tries to leave, you’re a water Elemental. Drown them.”
Swallowtail stepped over to Vryko. “It’s alright, child. It’s okay,” she soothed. Then, she turned to the queen. “I would use the typical exclamation, ‘Are you crazy!?’ But clearly you are, and so I’ll just tell you that in no way will I hurt these children. Insane or not, you should have more care and regard for your own kin. And it sounds like you are blaming an obedient man for your mistakes, my queen. These pups want to see their father, so let them. I have not heard the full story, however I sympathize with them. Know that I’m going to be watching them closely, and if you ever, ever try to lay a paw on them or send somebody after them, I will kill you.”

“Said no more counting dollars, we’ll be counting stars!”
