Pontchartrain didn’t believe the words that Valkyrie had uttered so nonchalantly. Beartooth? Dead? He had to ask, and thankfully, Valkyrie was kind enough to explain. "He's truly dead. Soraya killed him, rightfully so I mean the man was a monster and dooming all of Starfall with death and war. Of course, not before he landed another blow and killed Pandora, Sabertooths alphess.” Ponty noted her sigh, and felt himself sigh too. ”He died in the last war, Sabertooth against Tarben. His one daughter I guess went missing from Tarben entirely, and wound up found dead in a den with some dead Sabertooth guy. Then Sabertooths Prince plucked Beartooths sons mate off out of Tarben like a hawk catching a fish. Beartooth sent Phobus to do his dirty work, breaking treaty with half the realm. Phobus killed a Sabertooth Princess. Most of Tarben was wiped out, but Beartooths daughter Lova rules with her mate Erik. I'm surprised your alphas haven't told you. Aelous rules Sabertooth now, he and Erik met with every alpha to plan a pack wide peace treaty." He was SO out of the loop, apparently, but it was good news to hear. His body relaxed, but his mind wandered - how come Aegir hadn’t talked about this? Surely Ranjord should have known something as big as this. The Russian blue brute then brought up his concerns about the pups, and his reasoning for being here. Just before he could utter his worries about her being here to kill him, he cut himself off, but noticed Valkyrie’s head tilt in curiosity. He switched the conversation to an apology and then a formal greeting, glad to see her relax a bit, but was not expecting her to know so much. ”You were mated to Skadi, Beartooths bastard girl.” He froze. ”I guess I came to you at a better time than when this first appeared, she's the one they found in a den with the Sabertooth boy." As she turned her head to the side, he also turned his, but to look at the two girls. So, both of their parents were dead. Ponty’s heart softened, but before the feeling could sink in that deep, his attention was brought back to Valkyrie speaking once more. "Starfall is full of gossip, you were on the field with me when the whole realm broke into war over Phobus's actions. At the time I was only a Sigma, but I liked to learn of all of the packs whereabouts, rankings, and such. Mainly your name stuck out because no one had been outcast from Tarben to my knowledge - or anyone's knowledge. What you did must have been horrific if he kept Phobus but threw you out." Ponty gulped at the last comment – he didn’t wish to talk about it, but tried to prepare in case her next words if she asked. "I'm not here to dig into your past. I caught a body too already myself, and not from war. More so for a pleasantry." At this comment, his eyes widened and looked to the winged lass as she directed her attention to the ground with a small smile. He’d honor her with the same respect as she did for him, however, and wouldn’t ask. Ponty then sent some mist over to the pups, watching as they interacted with it in one form or another, before giving another sincere apology to his soulmate, who met his lake blue eyes with her own red ones. ”You were guarded and fearful, I can’t say I blame you. I forgive you.” And that smile, despite only knowing Valkyrie for the last few minutes, the smile made him feel at peace. ”You’re not in danger anymore, if that's what you fear. Beartooth is dead, Phobus seemed to vanish, and the realm is trying to mend the actions of those who came before they did. Besides, you have a second warrior at your back now." The Ranjord delta let a smile encroach on his maw, particularly at the final comment. ”Ah, thank you Valkyrie…thank you.” He let the silence hang for a moment, it’s presence peaceful to him. Then, breaking it, he spoke once again, trying to lighten the mood. ”Perhaps you’d like a tour of Ranjord? I can show you where the meeting clearing is, uhh, where my den i-” he cut himself off abruptly, restarting his thought on that part, his voice much more nervous. ”Uhm, how do you want to do den situation? I respect it if you want your own den until we become closer, but to be honest with you though…I would like the company.” A hesitant, yet cheeky smile painted itself on his maw as he awaited a response. Actions & Words.
