Staring at the ground, the woman wasn’t sure what she was doing in these lands. How could she have gone so far from home? So far from a father who loved her, who had rescued her from the terrible fosters she’d endured. Who had given her everything she could have wanted, taught her to be kind to others, and treated her like his own? Valjean would be worried sick. He had to be looking for her, right? She wasn’t in those lands now.. he wouldn’t be able too. That thought broke the poor maiden’s heart right in two. Cosette couldn’t imagine the pain he would be feeling. A soft sigh left the womans maw, her mind flashing back to the meeting. The now Zeta of the pack, appointed by Achilles and Pandora. A caretaker of pups - assuming that there would be some soon. It was something she knew how to do. That’s not what she was thinking about though - her mind flashed to Marius. The only other French native that she could tell was there. Had he fallen here at the same time as she? Assuming they were from the same lands, they had to have fallen through around the same time. The mole sat in front of her. Her soft greens gazed at it. How could she be so utterly helpless in these lands? Valjean was her provider and she’d lost that.. this was a whole new learning experience. A voice caught her attention. One husky and familiar to her, that reminded her of home. “Cosette?” Immediately she looked up, noticing the french man calling out to her. The burden on her heart slightly lifted at the sight of him, but still weighed heavy on her mind. The madam didn’t have to force a smile to look at him though. Sitting up, the woman quickly licked her chest to get rid of any dust. “Are you alright?” The question caught her off guard, but the concern was appreciated. The woman stood, making her way over towards his den. When she got within a few feet, the small girl sat back and wrapped her cream-colored banner tightly around her fore paws. “Marius,” the name left her lips, feeling wonderful. There was something about him that calmed her down almost immediately. “I’m doing alright. Realizing hunting isn’t my strongest trait.” A soft laugh echoed hollowly in her chest, casting her emerald orbs upon the ground. “Thank you for the concern. I didn’t know anyone else had a den around here. I’m glad to know you’ll be close by.” Cosette couldn’t help but look back up at him, feeling herself melt at the sight. Could someone really fall in love so fast? One meeting, one sight, and boom, she was pining over a man? Valjean wouldn’t like it, but he wasn’t here to put a stop to it. Somehow, she felt comforted by that fact. Father couldn’t stop her love for another man. Did Marius feel the same way? Unsure about this, the woman slightly tilted her head. “Marius.. I have a question.” Her voice was light, soft-spoken. “How.. How did you fall here? You’ve come from France, correct?” She didn’t want to come off as nosy, but seeing as he was the only other French-man she knew, it was a pretty obvious question. Falling here had been a culture shock to her. Home, it was rich and poor, social hierarchy, and sometimes war. There had been something stirring around the King before she left, but the woman never really knew what it was about. She tried to keep herself out of that news. The soft emeralds adorned to her cranium gazed at him, hoping she wasn’t being persistent about the question. She’d never gotten an answer at the meeting, but maybe with some alone time.. she’d finally start to understand some things around these parts.
