It did not feel like many days had passed since Hermes had rescued Aurora from the cruel hellscape of Tarben. As much as Hermes wanted to rejoice in having his beautiful mate here with him, in his home, one particular statement his love had made after her retrieval ran through his mind continuously. ”I can’t help but be worried, however, you just stole away another Prince’s mate – this won’t affect Sabertooth, will it? I didn’t mean to make such a mess of things. I’m sorry. Thank you for saving me, and taking me in.”. In that moment, he remembered what that klutzy brute had said – Odin, son of Beartooth. Hermes had swallowed hard, but had managed to keep his cool as he responded to his mate. ”Tarben is worn down from the most recent war that thankfully, we were not involved in. However, our scout was injured by one of their brutes, and passed shortly after returning to report.” The pink sky boy left it at that as he continued to dig, this time a bit more angrily. If this resulted in war, he'd be sure to one, find the male who killed Lazarus and grant him the same fate, and two, fight Odin, which was much more likely to happen. Prince to prince. His reflection of just a few days prior stopped at the sudden sound of Aurora calling for him. ”Hermes, my love! They’re coming!!” His pink eyes along with his cranium whipped to the source, his paws following soon thereafter. Hermes had not thought of using his wings, as he was not far. With how big her stomach had grown, he made sure to always stay nearby in case she started labor. Shortly, he reached the den, skidding along the dirt just outside before he gently walked inside, attempting to soothe his love as she birthed their children. *fade out, fade in* Eight pups laid at Aurora’s belly. Hermes smiled softly, nuzzling the pups in order. The first six looked like the two of them. When his nose reached the last two, his pink eyes scanned them over, narrowing and what would be his eyebrow furrowing as he pulled his head away, his ears flattening. His gaze shifted to his mate, who when he met her eyes, was crying. Hermes’s expression softened, his ears slowly working their way back upright as she spoke. ”I-I-I… I’m so sorry Hermes…I had to let him do what he wished, I was so scared. I’m so sorry.” He took a quick glance back at the last two pups, but redirected his attention back to Aurora as she began to sob. The winged boy let out a soft sigh as he lowered to his stomach, attempting to gently have his nose touch her own, and then look into her magenta eyes, wet with tears. His heart went out to her – Tarben was a land of hellish brutes, who claimed women as they pleased. This surely complicated things…a lot. Hermes hoped Odin would not ask…he could just find another mate, yeah? Surely. He tried to repress the thoughts as he spoke, attempting to soothe the new mother. ”My love, look at me. It’s not your fault. Whatever way this settles, we will handle it together, okay? Sabertooth has your back too, none of us stand for what was done to you.” The pink prince knew he would have to break the news to his mother and father, and felt extremely guilty given that they had just had a litter themselves.
