Obviously something very bad had happened to the man. Clarette wasn’t sure what to do. She winced, recognizing that this was clearly very important to the newcomer, but not wanting to risk his further deterioration. “If you haven’t eaten properly for months, you must eat something now. There’s this thing called starving to death -” She forced herself to take a deep breath. She didn’t want to get snarky right now. “I will take you to King Aeolus once you have eaten and had something to drink. You aren’t strong enough right now to walk to him - and I am loath to leave you here, easy prey for any hungry predator passing by.” The girl’s three tails tapped slowly and calmingly. Clarette’s life had been spent losing her parents, feeling left out as the youngest of her siblings and the only one without a horn, and nearly dying from the plague that had swept the realm. She had gained a new bloodline with the waning of the illness, as well as a new steel. She still loved to have fun, but coming close to death had given Clarette a new worldview. She was determined to help this newcomer recover, whatever it took.
