Team after team, desperate for a game changer, to win something big, offers money they can't afford without taxpayer help for play facilities, for athletes to thrill people for three or four years. Is it worth it? Many people have a history of placing too much value on entertainment, and not enough on what is really important. We overpriced athletes, lawyers, doctors, so without major adjustments they're untouchable. People have damned good reasons why NOT to procure services of doctors, or lawyers unless absolutely necessary. Its getting that way with plumbers and car mechanics. Athletes are most expensive of all, and when we have to subsidize the owner's play pens to be the trumpian biggest and best, under threat they will leave if we don't buy them what they want, WE are also paying those often ill behaved menchildren whose sh!t is worth more than any productivity we generate. Who do the $100,000 per plate dinners attract? How can anyone in that lifestyle possibly understand our concerns? They often ask, why should they care? Elon Musk has now fathered twelve children with four women. Lord only knows how many Trump sired, or how many abortions are hidden behind NDA his targets signed. Many athletes brag about how many women THEY slept with. They aren't interested in being fathers, good dads, or good husbands, and they are who our society elevates as our best? My dad said, "Behind every wealthy man is a bloody trail."
