I got very dark in the west, like it was going to storm. In the east, not so much because that was the side of the sun that didn't quite get covered up. It got dark enough for the pole light to come on for about a minute or two. Heard some roosters from up the road.
We used welding helmets which aren't quite dark enough so we only looked for a seconds at a time. At maximum, there was only a small dot of light on the left side. Looking right at it without the helmet, I could see a round circular ring with a bright spot on the left. Only looked for a second or two.
As quickly as it got dark, it was over, altho it is still more than 50% covered. Hardly noticeable as far as light is concerned.
I guess that does it for a few years.
