I think I would experience that eerie feeling, too.
We lived in Spokane when Mt. St. Helens blew and it got very dark, and was very eerie. In that case it was unexpected and we didn’t immediately know the cause. I doubt I’ll ever forget that experience. In any case we thought we were “on the edge” for this eclipse, but there was absolutely no indication of it. I particularly enjoyed some of the comments from scientists re the information they garner in such events.
