Cool experience
I didn't have to leave home to see it - pulled out a lawn chair and sat in my driveway close to the road (I live on a very quiet street). Could feel the temp drop when we hit 50% coverage of the sun. Still had sun light at peak but boy it was dim - so dim that all of my neighbor's lamp posts went on (they use light sensors to turn them on and off). I haven't check but I think we had 98% totality - just saw a tiny sliver of the sun (with solar glasses of course). Best eclipse that I have witnessed, and I have seen a number of them in my lifetime. Glad the weather cooperated!!!
