In all seriousness, though, while I stand by my assertion that Trump's decline remains obvious, I'm very glad indeed that he remains sufficiently compos mentis to lead this effort over the finish line. Regardless of how it ends up working out in terms of how Gaza's governance operates, how much of a role what remains of Hamas will have, etc., the last of the surviving hostages are free, there is very little fighting* going on, aid is flowing, and rebuilding efforts have become possible. This looks to be perhaps the signal accomplishment of Trump's second term.

* Just some Israeli actions against people violating the cease-fire buffer zone and Hamas executing alleged traitors/collaborators in the zone that remains under Palestinian control.
