But when you have Congress spending money like drunk sailors on shore leave, you re going to have inflation. The first multi-trillion dollar traunch of excessive federal spending under Trump desiggned ostensibly to counter ill-considered lockdowns of businesses and schools kicked off an inflationary cycle. Biden made it much worse with a second multi-trillion dollar tranche which poured gasoline on the inflationary cycle culminating in 9% inflation in 2022.

Energy prices are coming down thanks to Trump’s policies. But tariffs aren’t helping. Neither is reckless spending which is only slightly improved with a GOP Congress.

Inflation will never completely go away, even with a healthy economy. It is caused by politicians pumping too much borrowed money into the economy resulting in too much money chasing too few goods and services, leading to businesses raising prices.
