Seriously, the Kid Rocks of the world bring in more concert money than the classicals. Our beautiful $125 Million Schermerhorn Symphony Center is kept alive by those "distasteful" types of performances. Of course, Nashville thrives on tacky ... it's huge business. It makes hip-thrusting babydolls like Taylor Swift billionaires.

The foregoing notwithstanding, we have a fabulous symphony, and great guests like LA ... love the Dude. He and Guerrero look like twins. Adorable Hilary Hahn**. Yuga Wang, Lang Lang, Emanuel Ax, Evgenny Kissin. Great Jazz too ... Corea, Jamal, the Marsalis, Hancock. Nothing shabby in our more palatable musical biome.

All in all, this is a very rich town. Not too many cities have a gem like this:
