I agree with most of your post. Democrat leaders have done things wrong and many democrat voters are being unreasonable.

Trump is partly responsible for the problem too. His decision to bring back gerrymandering to help republicans just encouraged hostility among democrats. In press conferences he keeps attacking and complaining about democrats.

In his January 20, 2025, inaugural address, Trump stated that his "proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier...". If he really wants to be a "unifier", he should do more to unite Democrats and Republicans. That's a tough job. I am not able to bring peace to the two political parties here on this board, and Trump is not brining peace either.
